Renewing your Pakistan passport online involves several steps, including meeting passport renewal requirements, submitting a photograph, and providing fingerprints. Requirements
The general requirements are outlined below. Please ensure that you carefully review and adhere to each guideline to avoid any issues with processing your submission.
- Supporting documents

- A fingerprint form. Must be completed in accordance with the fingerprint tutorial
- A valid credit card to complete your online payment
Documents
The following documents are required to complete your passport renewal application.
General applicants
- Color-scanned copies of valid CNIC or NICOP or Smart CNIC or NICOP on both sides
- Color scanned copies of existing passport (the first two pages and one random page prompted by the system)
- Color scanned copy of a valid visa/iqama/residence permit/asylum card/other nationality passports
Minors under the age of 18
- Color scanned copies of valid NICOP or smart card (both sides) or a computerized B-Form or Family Registration Certificate
- Color-scanned copies of the parents’ valid national ID cards (both sides)
- Guardianship certificate/court decision in case of separation
- Color scanned copy of the minor’s attestation form
- Color scanned copy of death certificate(s) if either the mother or father has passed away
- Color scanned copy of valid visa/iqama/residence permit/asylum card/other nationality passports
Government employees
- color scanned copies of valid CNIC or NICOP or Smart CNIC or NICOP on both sides
- the applicant must provide a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) in case he/she is employed as a government officer/official, armed forces officer or a semi-government/autonomous body/corporation; the NOC will be subject to confirmation/verification by the department concerned
- color scanned copies of existing passport (the first two pages and one random page prompted by the system)
- color scanned copy of valid visa/iqama/residence permit/asylum card/other nationality passports.
Photograph
Your passport photos must adhere to strict size and quality standards. They should be professionally taken and measured 45 millimeters (mm) in height and 35mm in width.
Your photos must:
- Be no more than 6 months old
- Be in sharp focus and clear
- Be taken against a plain white background
- Show a close-up of your full head and shoulders
- Feature only you, with no other objects or people in the photograph
- Adhere to the specified dimensions
Your photos may be rejected unless they meet the following criteria:
- Show you facing forward and looking straight at the camera
- Display a neutral expression with your mouth closed
- Have no covering over the face
- Provide clear contrast with the background
- Have your eyes open, visible, and free from reflections or glare from glasses
- Exclude sunglasses, tinted glasses, glasses frames, or hair covering your eyes
- Avoid ‘red eye’ and shadows
The digital file size of the photograph should not exceed 5MB.

Fingerprint
To complete your online application, follow these steps to capture and submit your fingerprints:
- Download and Print the Form:
- Download the fingerprint form provided by the system
- Print the form for manual completion.
- Complete the Form:
- Write all information in clear, BLOCK letters using black ink
- Enter data within the designated fields or blocks
- Ensure all required fields are completed; incomplete forms may be rejected
- Scan the completed form at 600 dpi, in JPEG format, and in Grayscale.
- How to Record Your Fingerprint:
- Avoid rolling your finger when taking fingerprints
- Do not use highlighters on the form
- Ensure fingerprints are clear and not smudged
- Make notations for any missing fingerprints (e.g., amputation)
- Avoid stray marks within the fingerprint impression blocks
- Tip: Remove excess ink by placing your finger on rough paper before recording your impression on the form.
- Upload Your Fingerprint Form:
- Use a black stamp pad
- Remove excess ink from your fingers before taking impressions
- Ensure finger/thumb impressions clearly reflect lines and patterns
- Avoid overwriting on the form
- Scan the form in JPG/JPEG format at 600 dpi
- Ensure the file size is between 2-2.5 MB (not exceeding 3 MB).
Renewal process
To renew your Pakistani passport online, you can follow the steps below:
Step 2 : Create an application for passport and provide details of your application
Step 3 : Provide your address for machine-readable passport delivery
Step 4 : Pay the fee using a credit card or debit card
Step 5 : Provide both your present and permanent addresses
Step 6 : Upload your photograph and supporting documents required by the application
Step 7 : Download the form, capture the 4 fingerprints as requested by the system, set the scanner to 600 DPI, JPEG/JPG, and Grayscale, then scan and upload the form.
Step 8 : Review your provided information, sign the declaration, and submit the application.
It is important to note that the online portal is only available to renew Machine Readable Passport. If you want to issue your passport for the first time, modify your passport, replace a lost passport or reprint the passport, you can request the nearest Pakistan Embassy/ High Commission/ Consulate General where the MRP facility is available.

The purpose of “Email Rabta Service” is to provide overseas Pakistanis with timely updates on the status of their passport applications through the email addresses they have provided.

Passport renewal fees vary by category and type. The fee breakdown for different passport renewals in Pakistan is provided in the table below, excluding taxes and delivery charges. The processing times are 21 working days for normal applications and 5 working days for urgent ones.
